Feature type: Watercourse
This name originates from Australia. It is part of the Australian Antarctic Gazetteer.
This stream drains the basin that lies one kilometre east of Mt Martin. This is probably the largest (previously) unnamed stream on Macquarie Island, draining an oddly shaped (fault-defined) valley and reaching the sea about one kilometre south of Waterfall Bay hut.
It is named for Patricia Selkirk, who has spent several summers as a scientist at Macquarie Island and who is the senior author of the definitive book "Subantarctic Macquarie Island: Environment and Biology", P.M.Selkirk, R.D.Seppelt & D.R.Selkirk, Cambridge University Press, 1990. {Australian Antarctic Division, 2004}.
