This name originates from Bulgaria. It is part of the Bulgaria Gazetteer and the SCAR Composite Gazetteer of Antarctica.
The rocky point on the N coast of Rugged Island off the W coast of Byers Peninsula, Livingston Island in the South Shetland Islands forming the E side of the entrance to Timok Cove. Situated 400 m WSW of Ivan Vladislav Point, 2.91 km ESE of Cape Sheffield, 1.16 km ESE of Chiprovtsi Point and 3.61 km SSW of Start Point, Livingston Island. British mapping in 1968, Spanish in 1992, and Bulgarian in 2005 and 2009. Named after the town of Simitli in Southwestern Bulgaria.
