El nombre corresponde al apellido del capitán Raúl Llorente Rodrigo, del Arma de Ingenieros del Ejército de Chile, que participó en la Expedición Antártica Chilena de 1947-1948 y en la toma de posesión de los terrenos y creación de la Base Antártica Bernardo O'Higgins. Cerro de aproximadamente 478 metros de elevación, que se levanta a 8,5 millas al N de la punta Pitt, en la costa oriental de la península Tierra de O'Higgins.
