El nombre corresponde al de la esposa del Presidente de la República de Chile, señora Lucía Hiriart de Pinochet, que participó en el viaje presidencial a bordo del transporte "Aquiles" de la Armada de Chile, en 1977. Cerro que se ubica a aproximadamente 4,5 millas al S de la punta Sheppard, al N de la península Tabarín, en el extremo NE de la península Luis Felipe.
