SW of González Island in Discovery Bay, Greenwich Island, South Shetland Islands, was charted by CAE in 1947 and called Maipo Banco, after the oil tanker Maipo (Chile. DNH chart 500, 1951; IHA, 1974, p.192) Bajo Maipo (Chile. DNH, 1962, p.99) (APC, 2004).
