This name originates from United States of America. It is part of the United States Gazetteer and the SCAR Composite Gazetteer of Antarctica.
A freshwater frozen pond in the Labyrinth of Wright Valley, McMurdo Dry Valleys. The pond is near the SW extremity of Healy Trough, 0.2 mi E of the Wright Upper Glacier terminus. Named by US-ACAN (2004) after a USCG Dauphin helicopter (HH-65A) that landed on the pond January 20, 2004, in the course of sampling the pond.
