This name originates from United States of America. It is part of the United States Gazetteer and the SCAR Composite Gazetteer of Antarctica.
An ice-covered peninsula midway along the S side of Thurston Island. It extends SW into Abbot Ice Shelf between Schwartz Cove and O'Dowd Cove. Named by US-ACAN after Lt. Cdr. H. E. Williamson, Medical Officer of the seaplane tender Pine Island in the Eastern Group of USN Operation Highjump, 1946-47.
