This name originates from Italy. It is part of the Italy Gazetteer and the SCAR Composite Gazetteer of Antarctica.
Submarine mud volcano in the West Ross Sea, about 47km S/SE from Drygalski Ice Tongue and 86km W/NW from Franklin Island. Elliptical (2500m x1500m) relief oriented NW/SE with base at 680m depth. Discovered during the geophysical campaign of the R/V OGS-Explora (austral summer 2005-2006).
