Origin

This name originates from Bulgaria. It is part of the Bulgaria Gazetteer and the SCAR Composite Gazetteer of Antarctica.

Narrative

The 4.8 km long and 5.5 km wide glacier draining the N slopes of Osterrieth Range on Anvers Island in the Palmer Archipelago. Flowing northwards to enter Dalchev Cove in Fournier Bay E of Studena Point. British mapping in 1980. Named after the settlement of Altimir in Northwestern Bulgaria.
