An island 0.9 kilometer long and 224 meters high which is the largest and southernmost of the three Gould Islands (q.v.) in southwestern Marguerite Bay. Nautical charts have indicated the possibility of rocks or small islands in the vicinity. Gould Islands were sighted and positioned from the Research Vessel Laurence M.
