This name originates from United States of America. It is part of the United States Gazetteer and the SCAR Composite Gazetteer of Antarctica.
A ridge, 3.5 miles long, running northeast-southwest and rising ì to 2420 meters on the east side of Lawson Glacier in ì Cartographers Range, Victoria Land. Named by US-ACAN (2009) after ì Dwight Sturtevant Hughes, Senior Software Engineer and Technical ì Team Leader in support of US Geological Survey"s Geographic Names ì Information System, 1993-2009; responsible for complete redesign ì and reprogramming of GNIS and integration with geospatial ì information technology, 1997, allowing efficient maintenance, ì public access and display of the Antarctic name database through ì the Internet.
