Gully running ENE, N of South East Point, Deception Island. Site of largest patch of Colobanthus quitensis (Antarctic pearlwort) in Antarctica, one of only two flowering plants to be found in Antarctica. Named after the Norwegian floating factory whaling vessel, Benguela, which was based at Deception Island 1910-1914 (APC 2010).
