This name originates from Bulgaria. It is part of the Bulgaria Gazetteer and the SCAR Composite Gazetteer of Antarctica.
The glacier extending 5.5 km in WSW-ENE direction and 1.8 km in NNW-SSE direction on Livingston Island in the South Shetland Islands. Situated W of Perunika Glacier, E of Kamchiya Glacier and S of the glacial divide between Drake Passage and Bransfield Strait. Draining south-southeastwards into South Bay ENE of Ereby Point. Bulgarian topographic survey in 1995/96. Spanish mapping in 1991 and Bulgarian in 1996, 2005 and 2009. The original name ?Pimpirev Ice Wall? given in 1996 was modified to ?Pimpirev Glacier? in 2005 to reflect local changes in the ice cap configuration. The feature is named for Christo Pimpirev (b. 1953), geologist in the first Bulgarian Antarctic campaign in 1987-88 and leader of subsequent campaigns, founding chairman of the Bulgarian Antarctic Institute and director of the National Centre of Polar Research.
