This name originates from Bulgaria. It is part of the Bulgaria Gazetteer and the SCAR Composite Gazetteer of Antarctica.
The partly ice-free peak rising to over 1000 m on Trinity Peninsula in Graham Land. Situated in the SE foothills of Louis-Philippe Plateau, 6.83 km WSW of Kukuryak Bluff, 10.82 km NW of Levassor Nunatak and 2.69 km N by E of Smin Peak. Surmounting Cugnot Ice Piedmont to the E. German-British mapping in 1996. Named after the German-Austrian geologist Ferdinand von Hochstetter (1829-1884) who worked in Bulgaria, other European countries and New Zealand. Approved on December 6, 2010.
