This name originates from Bulgaria. It is part of the Bulgaria Gazetteer and the SCAR Composite Gazetteer of Antarctica.
The sharp peak rising to 3100 m in Zinsmeister Ridge on the NE side of Vinson Massif in Sentinel Range, Ellsworth Mountains. Situated 8.8 km NE of Mount Vinson, 9.61 km E by S of Mount Shinn, 5.89 km S by E of Mount Segers and 8.73 km WSW of Mount Waldron. Surmounting Dater Glacier to the E and its tributary Hinkley Glacier to the NW. US mapping in 1988. Named after the Bulgar Principality of Vanand in Old Armenia.
