This name originates from Bulgaria. It is part of the Bulgaria Gazetteer and the SCAR Composite Gazetteer of Antarctica.
The rocky hill rising to 700 m at the N extremity of Flowers Hills on the E side of Sentinel Range in Ellsworth Mountains. Situated 4.6 km N of Dickey Peak, 12.75 km ENE of Mount Levack in Sullivan Heights, and 11.2 km SSE of Mount Besch in Barnes Ridge. Surmounting Dater Glacier to the W, Ellen Glacier to the N, and Lardeya Ice Piedmont to the E. US mapping in 1988. Named after the medieval fortress of Monyak in Southern Bulgaria.
