This name originates from Bulgaria. It is part of the Bulgaria Gazetteer and the SCAR Composite Gazetteer of Antarctica.
The rocky island off the NW coast of Robert Island in the South Shetland Islands extending 740 m in N-S direction and 150 m wide. Situated between Clothier Harbour and Nevestino Cove. Ending in the T-shaped 250 m wide Hammer Point to the N, and connected to Robert Island to the S by a 250 m long moraine tombolo. Formed as a result of the retreat of Robert Island"s ice cap during the first decade of 21st century. Named after the Boatin Nature Reserve in the Balkan Mountains, Bulgaria.
