This name originates from Bulgaria. It is part of the Bulgaria Gazetteer and the SCAR Composite Gazetteer of Antarctica.
The broad ice-covered peak with precipitous rocky N, E and SW slopes rising to 850 m in Bigla Ridge on Foyn Coast, Antarctic Peninsula. Situated 13 km SW of Balder Point, 13.7 km NW of Spur Point, 14.9 km N of Varad Point and 6.87 km NE of Chuypetlovo Knoll. Surmounting Beaglehole Glacier to the SW, Sleipnir Glacier to the NW and Cabinet Inlet to the NE. British mapping in 1974 and 1976. Named after Rumyana Mecheva, biologist at St. Kliment Ohridski base in 1999/2000 and subsequent seasons.
