This name originates from Bulgaria. It is part of the Bulgaria Gazetteer and the SCAR Composite Gazetteer of Antarctica.
The rocky island in the SW part of Hamburg Bay on the NW coast of Anvers Island in the Palmer Archipelago. Situated 10.45 km NE of Gerlache Point and 8.85 km SW of Bonnier Point. The feature is 380 m long in SW-NE direction and 200 m wide. Separated from Emen Island to the SE by a 160 m wide passage. British mapping in 1974. Named after the settlement of Petrelik in Southwestern Bulgaria.
