This name originates from Bulgaria. It is part of the Bulgaria Gazetteer and the SCAR Composite Gazetteer of Antarctica.
The rocky island 700 m long in E-W direction and 200 m wide in Perrier Bay on the NW coast of Anvers Island in the Palmer Archipelago. Situated 7.55 km NE of Giard Point and 6.58 km S of Quinton Point. Separated from Anvers Island to the ESE by an 1.13 km wide passage. British mapping in 1980. Named after the ancient Thracian settlement and fortress of Masteyra in Southern Bulgaria.
