This name originates from Bulgaria. It is part of the Bulgaria Gazetteer and the SCAR Composite Gazetteer of Antarctica.
The northernmost island in the Pitt group of Biscoe Islands situated 4.53 km NW of Trundle Island, 780 m NNW of Ribnik Island and 2.62 km SE of Bardell Rock. The feature is ice-free, 800 m long in SW-NE direction and 360 m wide. British mapping in 1971. Named after the town of Knezha in Northern Bulgaria.
