This name originates from Bulgaria. It is part of the Bulgaria Gazetteer and the SCAR Composite Gazetteer of Antarctica.
The rocky peak rising to 1940 m in Owen Ridge, the southernmost portion of the main ridge of Sentinel Range in Ellsworth Mountains. Situated 2.3 km SE of Lishness Peak, 5.4 km SW of Marze Peak in Petvar Heights, 8.7 km NW of Arsela Peak, and 21.83 km E by S of Bergison Peak in Bastien Range. Surmounting lower Nimitz Glacier to the SW and Wessbecher Glacier to the NE. US mapping in 1961 and 1988. Named after the settlement of Stikal in Southern Bulgaria.
