This name originates from Bulgaria. It is part of the Bulgaria Gazetteer and the SCAR Composite Gazetteer of Antarctica.
The ice-covered peak rising to 2000 m in the southeastern portion of Gromshin Heights on the E side of northern Sentinel Range in Ellsworth Mountains. Situated 11.45 km NE of Mount Warren, 11.75 km ESE of Mount Washburn and 10.9 km SSE of Mount Mogensen. Surmounting Yamen Glacier to the N, Rutford Ice Stream to the E and Vicha Glacier to the SW. US mapping in 1961. Named after the settlement of Branishte in Northeastern Bulgaria.
