This name originates from Bulgaria. It is part of the Bulgaria Gazetteer and the SCAR Composite Gazetteer of Antarctica.
The rock-tipped point on the NE side of the entrance to Hall Cove, projecting 700 m northwards from the NW coast of Nelson Island in the South Shetland Islands. Situated 7.92 km NE of Harmony Point, 2.85 km NE of Smilets Point, 1.75 km S of Withem Island and 8.64 km W by S of Rip Point. British mapping in 1968. Named after José Retamales Espinoza, Director of the Chilean Antarctic Institute, for his support for the Bulgarian Antarctic programme.
