This name originates from Bulgaria. It is part of the Bulgaria Gazetteer and the SCAR Composite Gazetteer of Antarctica.
The mostly ice-covered range extending 24.7 km in SE-NW direction and 10 km wide, rising to 1600 m in the NW foothills of Detroit Plateau and partly on Chavdar Peninsula, on the border between Davis Coast and Danco Coast in Graham Land. Connected to Perkos Dome to the SE by Sinitovo Gap. Surmounts Breguet Glacier to the S, Gregory Glacier to the SW, Tumba, Samodiva and Pirin Glaciers to the N, and Wright Ice Piedmont to the NE. British mapping in 1978. Named after the ancient fortress of Kaliva in Southeastern Bulgaria.
