This name originates from Bulgaria. It is part of the Bulgaria Gazetteer and the SCAR Composite Gazetteer of Antarctica.
The ice-covered peak rising to 2000 m in the W foothills of Bruce Plateau on Loubet Coast in Graham Land. Situated 14.58 km N of Semela Ridge, 11.1 km E of Mount Lyttleton, 20 km SSE of Crookes Peak and 16.11 km NW of Slessor Peak. Steep and partly ice-free S and W slopes. Surmounts Hamblin Glacier to the SW and Hugi Glacier to the N. British mapping in 1976. Named after the Thracian god Purmerul.
