This name originates from Bulgaria. It is part of the Bulgaria Gazetteer and the SCAR Composite Gazetteer of Antarctica.
The rocky island off the northwest coast of Pasteur Peninsula on Brabant Island in the Palmer Archipelago, extending 400 m in ESE-WNW direction and 200 m wide. Situated 5 km WSW of Cape Roux, 800 m N of Metchnikoff Point and 9.6 km N by E of Claude Point. British mapping in 1980 and 2008. Named after the ancient Roman settlement of Soatris in Northeastern Bulgaria.
