This name originates from Bulgaria. It is part of the Bulgaria Gazetteer and the SCAR Composite Gazetteer of Antarctica.
The rock-tipped point on the NE coast of Pasteur Peninsula on Brabant Island in the Palmer Archipelago formed by an offshoot of Röntgen Peak. Situated 3.04 km SE of Cape Cockburn and 2.85 km N of Duclaux Point. British mapping in 1980 and 2008.
Named after Captain Nikola Levenov, commander of the Bulgarian ocean fishing trawler Burevestnik that operated in Kerguelen Islands waters from December 1974 to February 1975, and of the fishing trawler Ofelia in South Georgia waters during its fishing trip from September 1977 to April 1978. The Bulgarian fishermen, along with those of the Soviet Union, Poland and East Germany are the pioneers of modern Antarctic fishing industry.
