This name originates from China. It is part of the China Gazetteer and the SCAR Composite Gazetteer of Antarctica.
A highland at the entrance of the Tingtao Wan, the steep rocks on two sides form the narrow gate of the entrance. If a small boat enter the bay from here, you look above the two sides, the cliffs are likely to fall, decayed rocks look rough, it makes people afraid. It was named when surveying and mapping in 1993.
