This name originates from China. It is part of the China Gazetteer and the SCAR Composite Gazetteer of Antarctica.
The place is located northeast to the Hutou Bandao and is separated by a small gulf. Neighboring the ocean on three sides and its southeast slope linking with an icecap, the place looks like a tiger with its mouth open and head held high. It was named when aerial photos surveying and mapping in 1993.
