Its southernmost point is 1.9 km to the north of Dint Island and is 9 km west of Mount Holt. Named for Professor David William Hopkins for his contributions to Antarctic science through his work on the biogeochemistry of Antarctic soils and as Chair of the UK National Committee for Antarctic Research.
