This name originates from Bulgaria. It is part of the Bulgaria Gazetteer and the SCAR Composite Gazetteer of Antarctica.
The 420 m long in W-E direction and 70 m wide rocky island separated by a 110 m wide passage from Hall Peninsula on the E side of Snow Island in the South Shetland Islands. Surface area 2 ha. Part of the SW coast of Ivaylo Cove. Situated 580 m S of Trapecio Island, 6 km SSW of the NE extremity of President Head, 12.15 km NE of Cape Conway and 29.8 km NW of Deception Island. Bulgarian mapping in 2009.
Named after the mythical island Ogygia, home of the nymph Calypso.
