This name originates from New Zealand. It is part of the New Zealand Gazetteer and the SCAR Composite Gazetteer of Antarctica.
Turbid water, shallow pond, approximately 293m². Located on McMurdo Ice Shelf and south of Bratina Island.
For a pair of nesting Skua in the immediate vicinity of the pond in 1989. One of a group of ponds subject to continuous monitoring since 1989. Name first applied by Professor S.J. de Mora (University of Auckland) during events K081, K013 in 1987. Surveyed and named on plan L&S 37/165 (1991).
