This name originates from Germany. It is part of the Germany Gazetteer and the SCAR Composite Gazetteer of Antarctica.
A rock pillar, approx. 100 m in width and projecting beyond the snow surface by about 150 m; located at the S ascending slope of Leabotnen, between Haukelandnuten and Vikenegga; belongs to the group of nunataks of the N part of Kottasberge, Heimefrontfjella, Ritscherhochland, Maudheimvidda, Neuschwabenland, Dronning Maud Land. Geologically described during expeditions conducted in 1985/86 and 2000/01. Already in 1964/65 a British team of geologists visited the mountain and labelled it as station no. Z 329, but did not propose a specific geographical name.
Gerhard Spaeth (* 1930), German geologist, member of several Antarctic expeditions to Heimefrontfjella, Ahlmannryggen and Shackleton Range.
