Feature type: Mountain
This name originates from Germany. It is part of the Germany Gazetteer and the SCAR Composite Gazetteer of Antarctica.
An isolated mountain of an escarpment; a small plateau on its summit gives the mountain a particular trapezoidal shape; the N flank is projecting approx. 450 m beyond the snow surface of Haugebreen, the S flank only to about 150 m. The mountain belongs to the chain of nunataks in the SW of Heimefrontfjella, 1.2 km SW of Hanssonhorna. Geologically described during expeditions to Heimefrontfjella, Ritscherhochland, Maudheimvidda, Neuschwabenland, Dronning Maud Land, conducted in 1985/86 and 2000/01. Already in 1964/65 a British team of geologists visited the mountain and labelled it as station no. Z 382, but did not propose a specific geographical name.
A descriptive name of the trapezoidally shaped mountain top.
