This name originates from . It is part of the Germany Gazetteer and the SCAR Composite Gazetteer of Antarctica.
The N nunatak of two, located at the upper slope of the cirque Steinskaret, projecting only a few metres above the snow surface, where Steinskaret is separating Vinten-Johansenegga in the NE from SÅ“therrindane in the SW, Holtedahlfjella, Kurzegebirge, Orvinfjella, Neuschwabenland, Dronning Maud Land. Visited and climbed on 2009_NOV-20 during a privately organized expedition, motivated by mountain climbing, nature studies and journalistic interests, called 1st Austrian Queen Maud Land Expedition 2009.
The specific name part 'Stein' refers to the existing Norwegian names Steinskaret and Steinskaregga.
