The highest point, c.2400m above sea level, of the glacier-enclosed Darwin Mountains. The feature is not distinctive as the mountains are made up of a huge, snow-covered mass of rock, with a gently sloping summit. Feature depicted on: NZ AntTopo50-MN04
Discovered by the Darwin Glacier Party of TAE (1956-58). Named after Murray Ellis, of the TAE, who accompanied Sir Edmund Hillary to the South Pole.
