Mapped from air photographs taken by the US Navy. Named by US-ACAN after Lt. Col. F.B. Frost, USAF, commanding officer of the 9th Troop Carrier Squadron, which furnished C-124 airlift support between New Zealand and Antarctica and within Antarctica during USN Operation Deepfreeze 1962.
