A small ice-covered eminence, approximately 2400m above sea level, 34km southeast of Wilhoite Nunataks. The flat summit of the feature merges with the ice sheet to the north and west but there is a steep cliff on the southern side.
Mapped from air photographs taken by the US Navy. Named by US-ACAN after USS Vance, ocean station ship between New Zealand and McMurdo Sound during USN Operation Deepfreeze 1962.
