Named by the northern party of the New Zealand Geological and Survey Antarctic Expedition (1961-62) after F.A. Worsley, a member of Sir Ernest Shackleton's British Imperial Trans-Antarctic Expedition (1914-16) and the Shackleton - Rowett Antarctic Expedition (1921-22).
