A nearly square mountain rising to over 600m on the west of Nielson Fjord, and the east of the Dwyer Escarpment, Victoria Land.
Named in honour of Soviet aerologist Vasiliy Ivanovich Samushkov who perished in Antarctica. On 3 August 1960 a fire at Mirny Station destroyed the aerometeorological building killing eight people, including Samushkov.
