Named For

Named by Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names (US-ACAN) (1994) after Ellen Stone Mosley-Thompson, glaciologist, Byrd Polar Research Center, Ohio State University, who from 1974 analysed ice samples from Antarctica and conducted field research at South Pole, Siple Station, and Plateau Remote Camp. Not: Mosely-Thompson Cirques.
