Feature type: Point
This name originates from New Zealand. It is part of the New Zealand Gazetteer and the SCAR Composite Gazetteer of Antarctica.
Names that other countries have for this feature:
A coastal point on the southeast of Ross Island, on the east of Fog Bay in Windless Bight, and west of Cape MacKay. Feature depicted on: NZ AntTopo50-MF15
Discovered and named by the NAE, 1901-04, presumably in association with Mount Terror, but effectively for the same feature as Cape Mackay. Maps by the BrAE 1911-14 showed both names for the coastal feature. The name was disambiguated by specifically applying it on the point west of Cape Mackay, the southeast extremity of Ross Island.
