Mapped by U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) from surveys and U.S. Navy (USN) air photos, 1955-63. Named by Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names (US-ACAN) for Commander Charles O. Borgstrom, air operations officer with U.S. Navy (USN) Squadron VX-6 during Operation Deep Freeze 1966.
