A ridge-like projection at the north side of the head of Davis Glacier, approximately 12km north of the broad summit of Mount George Murray, in the Prince Albert Mountains, Victoria Land.

Named For

Mapped by U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) from surveys and U.S. Navy (USN) air photos, 1956-62. Named by Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names (US-ACAN) for James R. McDaniel, satellite geodesist with the McMurdo Station winter party, 1966.
