Mapped by U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) from surveys and U.S. Navy air photos, 1960-65. Named by Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names (US-ACAN) for Dominic Cantello, Jr., U.S. Navy (USN), electrician with the South Pole Station party, 1965.
