Mapped by U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) from surveys and U.S. Navy air photos, 1960-62. Named by Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names (US-ACAN) for chief radioman Ernest J. Draeger, U.S. Navy (USN), a member of the winter party at McMurdo Station in 1967.
