A prominent feature rising to over 2400m at Banna Peak on its south, at the top of the southern arm of the Darwin Glacier. Feature depicted on: NZ AntTopo50-MN03
Discovered by the Darwin Glacier party of the TAE in December, 1957. Named by the Darwin Glacier party because of the sheer black cliffs of the nunatak, especially on the southern side.
