Feature type: Rock
This name originates from Bulgaria. It is part of the Bulgaria Gazetteer and the SCAR Composite Gazetteer of Antarctica.
The group of rocks lying in an aquatory of 25 ha that extends 780 m in W-E direction and 560 m in S-N direction in the Wauwermans Islands group of Wilhelm Archipelago in the Antarctic Peninsula region. Centred 5.27 km S of Host Island, 4.93 km W of Zherav Island, 2.11 km S of the midpoint of Vetrilo Rocks, and 3 km NE of Kalmar Island in the Dannebrog Islands group.
So named because of its shape supposedly resembling a flock of birds in flight, 'yato' being the Bulgarian for 'bird flock', and in association with other descriptive names of islands in the area.
