This name originates from United Kingdom. It is part of the Gazetteer of the British Antarctic Territory and the SCAR Composite Gazetteer of Antarctica.
Glacier about 100 km long, flowing from north east of McCuddin Mountains into the western end of Getz Ice Shelf, to the west of Dean Island.
Named for the first ‘Earth Summit’ Rio de Janeiro, 1992 and the opening for signature of The United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC). Part of a naming theme in this area of the locations of major climate treaties, conferences and reports.
